What is order batching in a warehouse?

Order batching groups several orders into one picking trip, so a picker collects lines for many customers in a single pass instead of walking the warehouse once per order. Done well, it multiplies lines picked per hour; done badly, it creates sorting errors and congestion at the pick face.

Whether batching pays — and which policy to use — depends on your order profile: lines per order, SKU overlap between orders, cube and weight, and where those SKUs are slotted. WareBee reads that profile from your own data and simulates the candidate policies in your digital twin.
