At the scan bench the system checks the SKU's velocity right now, not the location tag printed on the original pick label, and routes the unit to wherever that velocity currently earns a slot. A bestseller that sold through and is now short on the floor gets restocked forward from returns immediately, without waiting for the next scheduled re-slot.
