WareBee has no automated test suite. That is the job.
We run a large, mature warehouse platform — many modules, deep workflows, integrations with third-party WMS systems, and customer configurations that differ from one another in ways that matter. It has been tested carefully by hand. That does not scale, and it is now the thing slowing releases down.
You will start from an empty repository and decide what gets tested first, what never gets automated, and what the architecture looks like when there are a thousand tests instead of ten. This is a contract role, 10–40 hours a week, and deliberately shaped so you can take it alongside other work.
What you will do
- Build the automated testing foundation from scratch — UI, API, database, and integration coverage
- Decide the automation strategy from product risk and business impact, not from what is easiest to automate
- Design test architecture and reusable frameworks that stay maintainable as the suite grows
- Wire the suite into CI/CD so a failing test blocks a bad release instead of being noticed later
- Use AI tooling to accelerate test authoring, widen coverage, and triage failures — we care that you use it well, not that you use it
- Keep the suite honest: tests that fail for real reasons, and a maintenance cost that does not outgrow its value
- Work with Product and Engineering on what “done” means before code is written, not after
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in software QA across both manual and automation work
- Production experience building automated UI, API, and end-to-end tests — Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or comparable
- Solid grounding in modern web applications, REST APIs, databases, debugging, and CI/CD
- Practical, day-to-day use of AI tools in your testing workflow
- A root-cause mindset — you are not satisfied by a passing retry
- Clear written communication, and real experience working remotely across a cross-functional team
- Warehouse, logistics, or supply-chain domain exposure (a plus, not a requirement)
What we offer
- A genuinely blank slate — your decisions become how quality works here
- Direct influence on engineering practice, not a ticket queue
- Flexible hours and a contract shaped around your availability
- Rate agreed on experience and the scope you take on
